Women of the Year: A Special Tribute to Speaker Nancy Pelosi And Ms. Stacey Abrams

The two leaders in the modern era inspire young women and men with the energy and time they put into public service. I appreciate their effort to make the world better.
I came from a background of women leaders who made things happen. In fact, I saw and worked with many women leaders in my home, workplace, community, and society at large.
My grandmother was one of the leaders in the Nigerian Women’s War, which helped eradicate women’s double taxation imposed by colonial masters. My mother has been a brainchild behind micro-finance empowering women in her community for the past five decades.
Then I moved to the US and worked with some women with fantastic opportunities but needed more drive and motivation. When I looked further, I was pleasantly surprised these lovely women lacked direction and a role model in the home and community.
