Love your name, love yourself, and enjoy your life.

Harvard Business Review suggests if a board wants a new leader to shake things up, appointing someone with an uncommon name could help.

Also, studies show children with unusual names are bullied and teased by their peers, and their self-esteem starts suffering at an early age.

Here is what you need to know before selecting a name for your baby.

David Zhu, a professor at Arizona State University, asserts, “Because a name identifies an individual and communicates with them daily, it serves as the basis of one’s self-conception, especially with others.”

Remember:

Uncommon names can work for you and your children.

As a parent, be aware of the positives and negatives before you give a name to your child. And as an adult, find ways to work with your name and be proud of it because people tend to treat us the way we treat ourselves and others.

“Names are the sweetest and most important sound in any language.” — Dale Carnegie
