The theme is prominent — women are sexual objects, and wealthy Black men could and should exploit them. In 2000, Jay-Z’s song, Big Pimpin, won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Rap Video. Despite his misogynoiristic messages, his career continued to skyrocket.
