You’re likely to gain readers if you read others’ work. So be honest and read others’ work as much as you can. Choose to move on if you don’t like the story. Don’t clap if you don’t read the story. Clapping or highlighting without reading others’ work is foolish and unprofessional.
I often move on if I don’t like the story. Or, I look for an old article and read it before I clap. I have unfollowed a well-established writer because he used to highlight the first line without reading my story.
