The book of Proverbs 27:3 says you are what you think. This may not make sense at all to some people and it can be practical to many people. The mind is a market square that spells out our thought processes — - positive or negative.
- Change the wrong direction: I had a minor accident. For a week, my mind was in the wrong direction of having another accident. One morning I remembered my almost perfect driving record and the accident thought slowly disappeared.
- See it differently: Our thought influences the way we see things. Green pants can become red pants because of our thought process. Retrain your mind and change your perspective in any situation. For example, your spouse doesn’t clean the bathroom. She works 60 hours per week. See this issue differently and hire someone to clean the bathroom.
- Decrease Complaining: Sometimes, our problem brings blessings. Look for something good anytime you are soaked with a problem. Sammy owns over $36,000 in credit card. He lacks discipline and budgeting sense. He retrains his mind from a debtor to a student of personal finance. When his mind goes to his debt, he reminds himself of a lesson of budgeting and self-discipline — paying off the $36K.
Tip for the week: Take a different road to work today or buy from a different supermarket!
