The Power Of The Almighty Lunch: How It Reveals a Secret
Jalla had lunch with her best friend, Alex, in a fancy restaurant, and a small-town drugstore’s hidden secret was revealed.
Jella’s story.
My friendship with Alex started in high school in a small town of about seven hundred people. After graduation, I moved to NYC, and Alex moved to France to attend college. We didn’t see each other until last summer when we were in town for our high school reunion. We were excited to see each other, caught up with others, and had a blast with food and engaging conversation. Most of my classmates have not changed — people are people.
The following day Alex and I had lunch in a new high-scale restaurant that occupied the location of a former drugstore a few miles from our old high school.
The restaurant was new, spacious, and tasteful. The waiter, Chelsea, who attended to us, looked much like a former classmate but much younger and more sophisticated. She wore her hair pulled back with a classic white shirt and well-made navy-blue pants.
