Here are things you can control if you are a brown, or black, or yellow person and you live in the US. If immigrants are abused in NYC, then other cities can’t be spared.

1. Get a certified copy of your birth certificate and carry it as a form of identification on demand. Don’t argue, but stay alive.
2. Green card holder — do the same and cancel all travel outside the US.
3. Stay away from houses of worship and African market or hair salon if your immigration paper is expired or about to expired.
4. Many people will help you and others may not. Don’t blame them, but focus on yourself and what you can control.
