Last Friday night, I watched the American Greed show on CNBC.
In the TV Show, a millionaire home builder stole his homebuyers’ mortgage and overdraft millions of dollars from the local bank. When the time came for him to go to jail, his millionaire father pressured his own daughter to accept jail time for her older brother. Why? The man didn’t want to lose his own son — a man like him.
The daughter’s lawyer, a good man, stepped in and wiretapped the dad, and the woman was set free. Money is power, and we fight for our own first.
Many people in the US are fuming, and some live under the rocks without the internet. As always, I have no empathy for self-inflicted wounds.
