A few years ago, a young woman asked me what makes a marriage great. At that moment, my life flashed in front of my eyes, followed by the lives of others around me. My memory took me back to when things were simpler or easier — fewer choices.
Today, sitting in a different era, living among other people, experimenting with advanced technology, and facing various challenges, I cannot stop but wonder how one thing stayed the same… marriage was and is a complex relationship.
Marriage is complicated, and we will never fully understand it.
When we plan to get married, no woman or man thinks that there will be times when they would not be happy. There will be times when it will feel like their marriage is falling apart. Or times when the busy routines of life will engulf the happiness in their relationship.
