Rome is a theft.

The crowd grew within a few minutes from an open market on a dirt road. Within the crowd were more men than women, and most of the men were older.

One older man, wearing a red shirt and oversized tan trousers, held an eight-inch wooden plank in his left hand and marched behind a small, half-naked young woman holding an attractive dry catfish.

The angry people each took turns jumping on the half-naked woman called Rome. They stopped in the village square and decided on her verdict.

The judge, the older man with the red outfit, called the attention of everyone with an announcement, “Rome must die for putting this clan to shame. A woman stealing fish in the market is an abomination.” The crowd chorused, “Yes, sir.”

The village messenger announced, “First, we must take her to her husband to have the final say before the council signs on for her death.”

The crowd screamed, “No, she deserves to die for bringing shame to our clan!”
