I liked your take on this issue.

“You can’t judge the whole Church of Jesus by what a handful of people did,” is the pat excuse. Actually, you can. Because there is a systemic pattern of abuse and lies here. The world is rife with stories of people who were mistreated, judged, bullied, even abused by Christians following Jesus, but more drunk on the Church’s doctrines than who or what Jesus actually said, did and taught.
