Bake or fry ripe plantain — Dodo
No cooking experience required
Dodo or plantain chip is a quick snack you can prepare for yourself or your family.
Children love it as a snack, breakfast, or lunch. Adults love it more as a snack.
Cooking requires patience. Also, patience is a key to growth in your life.
Purchase yellow or green plantains from the supermarket or your local farmer’s market. Buy any oil you enjoy. Ripe (yellow) plantain gives the best taste.
Wash the plantains before you peel them. Be creative and cut them into the shape you want. Salt is optional
Use a frying pan or any available pot. Heat the oil for about 2mins.
Fry the cut plantain in patches and lower the heat until it turns light brown. Turn it over. Repeat the process.
Place paper towels in the bowl to drain the excess oil(see the photo).
For healthy living — Without oil. Use an oven or microwave. Bake or microwave the whole plantain if you want or cut it into your preferred shape
Follow steps 1–2 for baking — preheat the oven 350 degrees and bake for 15–20 minutes. Microwave 3–5minutes for one plantain. Plantain is a good source of fiber.
Serve with water, soda, or orange juice!
