How to Make A Quick Snack At Home

No cooking experience is required.

Dodo or plantain chip is a quick snack you can prepare for yourself or your family.

Children love it as a snack, breakfast, or lunch. Adults love it more as a snack.

Be patient, cooking takes time.

Step 1

Purchase yellow or green plantains from the supermarket or local farmer’s market. Buy any oil you enjoy. Ripe (yellow) plantain gives the best taste.

Step 2

Wash the plantains before you peel them. Be creative and cut them into the shape you want. Salt is optional.

Step 3

Use a frying pan or any available pot. Heat the oil for about 2mins.

Step 4

Fry the cut plantain in patches and lower the heat until it turns light brown. Turn it over. Repeat the process.

Place paper towels in the bowl to drain the excess oil(see the photo).
