It was a rainy Thursday, and I had to drive to a restaurant near our city center. Usually, I walk to a restaurant.
My brilliant daughter scheduled lunch for both of us. She rarely plans our lunch on weekdays because she is a busy young woman. I’m so grateful for the woman she is becoming. We continue to learn from each other.
We were the first customers and picked a seat near the window. My first time in this restaurant; it has a simple setting and memorable drinking glasses.
As we conversed, we talked about our reading, and she was excited and proud of the novels she read during her two-week summer break. She read more fiction over the last year than in previous years. I am so proud of the woman she is becoming.
