Agreed that we need to use our real name. Bassey is my real name and it will go with me until I leave this world.

Joke aside, some writers chose different names because of many reasons. And some of the reasons may be safety or a shared family name.

I dropped my shared name because the name belongs to many people who are very private individuals. In fact, the name doesn’t belong to me and it doesn’t make sense for me to use it for my writing.

Second, I dropped the last name because I’m a creative writer and sometimes, I can’t stop myself from recording writing materials from my guests.

I want to protect characters in my writing, my pocket book, and myself!
