I see this every day from supermarket store’s cashier to a leader in the church. Black woman is difficult — is a part of the US culture. They see nothing good in “ a Black woman” who chooses not to bleach.
Yes, she was (she is) brilliant and I guess he was not ready to give her credit. He advanced his career because of her. Why now?
It starts with me and I work hard to be conscious of any adjectives I use in describing myself and other Black women. We are enough!
Yes, I am conscious because we tend practice what is popular.
