Anger is a normal emotion. Know the root of your anger and how to embrace, manage, and use it for inspiration.

Three -good-things-about- anger Photo by Japheth Mast on Unsplash

According to American Psychological Association, anger is “an emotion characterized by antagonism toward someone or something you feel has deliberately done you wrong.”

Think of it this way — we or others do something that makes us happy, or we or others do something to make us angry.

Feel free to express anger as needed and don’t suppress it. The truth is, out-of-control anger can make our friends and family members shun us. Use your anger for good.

Three good things about anger:

  1. Understand anger.
  2. Know the reason…

Gratitude takes effort and hard work.

Photo by Alora Griffiths on Unsplash

Gratitude takes effort,
It takes hard work.
Start with one thing in the morning — being alive.
Focus on what you have,
Remember what you have done
Work on what you want
Start each day with a grateful heart.

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”
— William Arthur Ward.

Help yourself grow.

Note: I lost the original poem while I was about to publish it. I’m grateful I can remember a few lines with the limited time I had. Thank you for reading!

What do you want from a friend? How much have you grown with your friend in two or five years?

The world-class advice goes if you want to be successful, walk with successful people. That is somewhat true. But how do you define success? We all describe our success differently. So, take the time to decide what success means to you. Then use your parameter of success to look for what you want from a friend.

A true friend can help you grow.

Pastor Mike: I forgave my wife. We’re raising the child as our own.

Wife Morgan: I had an affair with our helper, and he got me pregnant. I didn’t know until I delivered the baby. The baby is a different race…

Pastor Mike: I forgave myself. I was not there when my wife needed me. We are working this out, and it is going to strengthen our relationship.

OK! Would you forgive a person who raped you or killed your only child?

First thing first, never judge someone who chooses not to forgive themselves and others. …

September Six Word Photo Story Challenge: Clouds

I can’t see everything out there.

Cloud is one of the admirable things that challenge my perception in life. It makes me wonder what is on the other side. Sometimes, it amazes me how she moves or how she changes colors, sizes, and shapes.

Often, I reflect on how lovely Cloud keeps me on my toes — what next? A happy day, sunshine, or a hurricane.

Cloud is marvelous and generous. I have my question. Is she humorous, gracious, or stiff? I know she is cheerful, gigantic, and active.

For sure, I can’t see everything out there in my cloud. …

Reason creates toughness,
Reason inspires ideas
It amazes actions.

What is your why for reading this poem?

It takes courage to read or get out of bed early in the morning when you don’t feel like it.

Find a reason for being alive and then do a happy dance.

Afghan women appeared on the street with their veils and demanded human rights. That’s right; they protested in the lion’s den — Taliban-controlled state. Afghan women have a reason to put their lives and families in danger.

“Midlife: when the Universe grabs your shoulders and tells you “I’m not f#@#ing around, use the gifts you were given.” — Dr. Brene’ Brown

All women will one day go through menopause. It’s one part of a woman’s remarkable life.

Experts definition of menopause: “Menopause is a natural process that every woman experiences due to the age-related gradual decline of primordial ovarian follicles.

Naturally, it’s taboo to talk about menopause in an open forum, but we can do better.

Here we go.

Recently, I read a fantastic story on menopause here. I was disappointed because I’ve never written on this…

A poem — Give hope a chance.

Give life a chance,
Labour rarely lasts forever
When the baby screams —everyone smiles
Suffering is one part of a good life
Give hope a chance
Life is good if you let her.

Last week was painful and hopeless for many Americans. I had water in one part of my house. My first thought was my children’s photos — I lost mine during the Nigerian Civil War. Then the second thought was what others in my backyard were going through.

A parkway near my house became a river that floated heavy trucks. Yea, we all play games with mother nature…

For Terry:

Sadly, she lost her job. Other publications will offer her a job. She can learn more about herself and leadership.

For Dr. Y.:

Good for him. A leader leads. Leaders make tough decisions and get things done. Steven Job was let go of the company he founded and recently, "The Men's Warehouse" founder was let go.
